“Mechanical engineering is not only the major I chose but also one that chose me”.
These projects uses software tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, SketchUp, hand drawings, and more to simulate the problem before building the prototypes.
Before I became interested in engineering, I wanted to pursue architecture.
The engineering projects I have been a part of thus far.

Hello! My name is Carina Sinbandhit (she/her). I am a second year undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Honours Mechanical Engineering at the University of Waterloo.
Growing up, I was always interested in the idea of creating machines that could work autonomously to solve complex problems; this passion eventually drove me toward my current field of study. Throughout my university career, I’ve had the opportunity to delve into exciting areas such as applied science, design process, 3D printing, and engineering tools such as AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS. My experience with these topics has enabled me to develop an aptitude for innovation – crafting solutions to intricate problems through inventive methods. As a result, I can identify opportunities for improvement within my studies and professional life, while also being nimble enough to think outside the box when needed. In all, I strive to leverage my knowledge of engineering principles alongside creative thinking skills to produce tangible outcomes.
I subsequently developed passions in automotive, aerospace and building science.
